Qld: New tree clearing laws for Queensland
Illegal tree clearers will face fines based on the value of the land they've clearedunder new legislation to go to Queensland Parliament this week.
Premier PETER BEATTIE says anyone convicted of illegal clearing will also be bannedfrom having a tree clearing permit for five years.
The legislation is expected to be approved by Cabinet today and could go to parliamenttomorrow (Tues).
