Imagi International Said to Join Hands with Creative Power

BEIJING, Feb 18, 2011 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Imagi International Holdings Ltd. (SEHK: 0585), one of the entertainment firms in China, is likely to team up with Creative Power Entertaining, maker of the popular animated TV series Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf, for a business expansion in the animation market.

Imagi International has been in intensive talks with Creative Power in the past six months, said people familiar with the matter today, noting that the Hong Kong-listed company is intended to join hands with or, to buy into Creative Power.

Imagi International said at the beginning of this month that it had been in final talks with some potential partners over animation projects to consolidate its foothold in the animation, media, and entertainment market.

Creative Power will not sell its copyright in Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf, disclosed an executive for the Guangdong-based company, without saying whether the controlling shareholders will sell their holdings in the company.
